You Are Your Confidence

With realization of one’s own potential and self-confidence in ones ability, one can can build a better world. ~ Dalai Lama

In Africa, we are proud of our unique origin, nature, environment and best climate. We house a lot of natural resources from rare gems to oil. Surprisingly Africa is also leading in the receiving of aid to help the people living in the continent. With all this wealth lying around, what’s happening? We got a culture where we tend to copy what our counterparts from other continents are doing.

Most times we love to value and rate ourselves by comparing with current trends. We genuinely value ourselves according to the ‘society rules’. Don’t get me wrong, bench making is good. Copying is what I am attacking. I am aiming for Africa to grow to be a continent with strong indices of originality and weak indices of copying. This can be achieved if we first and foremost accept who we are, Know who we are and accept the destiny set out for our lives.

1. Know yourself.

Generally, we tend to live lives with the currents but hardly do we know who we are. Invest sometime to discover yourself. Note down your likes and dislikes. At each point, dissect it, do you really like/dislike it? Have circumstances forced you to like/dislike it? What does it benefit you to like/dislike it? Would you be proud to be defined by the character (good or bad)?

2. Embrace yourself.

After you have noted your traits, accept who you really are. Love yourself for who you are. If you are an early riser, embrace it with confidence. If you are an island, be aware of yourself. If you a pessimist, know and accept your self. Realizing yourself is key if you are ever going to be productive at any step. When you accept your character, then you’ll easily learn to mound it to your advantage in boosting your credence.

3. Endorse yourself.

Now that you know your self, you have amended the ugly to bad and bad to good. You are satisfied with where you are. You are ready to seek help to boost with what you lack. Now, stand up for your self and present yourself as you are. Don’t be afraid to be who you are. You may be hesitant but trust me, once you are true to yourself, the world shall accept you and grow you as you are.

When we are confident we tend to bring out the best in us and be more productive. Once change kicks in, origin is accepted. As we embrace the change wave, we change the mindset from receivers to originators, givers, distributors.

When you and me change, the society’s changes, the country changes, eventually, the Continent changes for the greater good. With time, Africa won’t be a beauty with a borrowing hand but it shall be a beauty with a giving hand. The world shall embrace the the origin of its people and respect it. Yes, they shall be allowed to emulate us šŸ˜.

Won’t you have a confident day where you accept yourself and be productive ā¤
