Ogilvy Africa Scoops 22 Awards As Well As APA Agency of The Year Award For the Second Time in A Row

The 2017 APA Awards in partnership with the Loeries, one of the world’s most prestigious companies championing creative impression held its prestigious Association of Practitioners in Advertising (APA) Awards 2017, in association with The Loeries.

APA as an association is mandated to enforce advertising standards through adherence to the code of advertising practice and direct marketing and also advocate for professionalism among its members. It also seeks to recognize the application of creative excellence in the way brands and businesses communicate.

Ogilvy Africa, Africa’s premier agency has won the Agency of the Year for the second year running. The agency also has won the award scooping majority of the categories since the comeback of APA awards, 12 years ago.

The agency won a record of 22 awards for six of its clients namely Ol Pejeta, Basco Paints, Huawei, Total, Airtel and DStv. It also won the Young Creative Award which was won by one of its youngest creatives, Isaiah Iraya.

Ogilvy Africa bagged 1 Grand Prix, 7 Golds, 5 Silvers and 5 Bronzes in Communication Design, Craft Communication Design, Digital & interactive, Craft Digital, Media innovation, Experiential, Print, Craft Print, Radio, Television and Craft Television.

“Winning in all categories shows we are on the right track with transforming the agency into an integrated company that solves clients’ business challenges”, added Mathieu Plassard.

Early last month, the agency at the same time emerged victorious at the MSK awards for its “Why the Future is Kenya” – Coca Cola campaign and “Most Eligible Bachelor” – Ol Pejeta conservancy campaign.

In August this year, the campaign won five awards at the Loeries; a Gold for Media Innovation, Silver for Public Relations, Silver for Craft, Bronze for Digital and a final Bronze for Integrated Campaign.

The five medals made Ogilvy Africa the number one agency in Kenya and Ol Pejeta, number five most awarded client at the Loeries 2017.

In June, the campaign emerged winner in three categories at the Cannes Lions, a first for an agency in Sub- Saharan Africa. Earlier in May, Ogilvy Africa was named Agency network of the year at the African Cristal Festival after winning 39 awards. The African Cristal Festival rewards the best campaigns created and broadcast in the African continent.
