In 2018, Safaricom launched Zuri, Safaricom’s Online Care Assistant chatbot handling Safaricom customers and is helping manage tasks like managing subscription services, M-PESA Help & Reversal, getting information on products &services like purchasing data bundles and many other things.
Zuri was launched to offer more customer support to users in a manner that is seamlessly integrated with users’ preferences not just on Telegram and Facebook but on WhatsApp as well.

For example, if you would like to request an M-PESA Reversal and you go to the Zuri Chatbot on WhatsApp, this is what you get – after following the steps, and a thing I like about this is they ask for your M-PESA Account PIN to confirm account ownership. After that, you are easily directed to the number of options where you are again asked to provide proof of ownership, i.e your M-PESA PIN.
