I could compare Africa Nouveau Festival to that euphoric feeling when you discover new music and you feel like you’ve discovered a whole new world. A sweeping panorama of good vibes, the two days and three nights of Africa Nouveau was one for the books, fusing together music, art, film and fashion, the good people at Good Times Africa along with their sponsors threw a hell of a party.

The Tusker Lite sponsored Africa Nouveau Festival staged between 2nd-4th February at the Ngong Racecourse Waterfront was an artistic masterpiece that brought to one stage artistes, painters, filmmakers, music producers and DJs.

This year’s partnership between Africa Nouveau Festival and Tusker Lite is a reaffirmation of the significance of this premier music experience that runs across the region. The music industry continues to grow exponentially in Kenya as the industry evolves to provide better avenues for gainful engagements. As a partner in this industry, Tusker Lite will continue to support artists through direct sponsorship and through events such as the Africa Nouveau Festival.

“Tusker Lite Lager is excited to be title sponsors of the Africa Nouveau festival one of the biggest musical experience on the Kenya social calendar. At Tusker Lite, we are keen at giving our consumers an opportunity to discover the best Afro-Music acts that the continent has to offer and Africa Nouveau offers the perfect platforms for consumers to experience authentic African sounds,” Said EABL Premium Beers Manager, Barbara Kingori

Tusker is currently working with Blinky Bill and Khaligraph Jones through developing information that give Tusker Lite consumers an opportunity to interact with product and also engage their artistes prowess. It is in the same breadth that the brand has sought to further its support for arts in the country

Notable highlights of the music program included: The release of the album ‘Project Greatness’ by Sichangi (the youngest member of the EA Wave Collective), two listening-party themed performances by Muthoni the Drummer Queen and Blinky Bill – who is also Tusker Lite Brand Ambassador- for their upcoming album release “SHE” and “Everyone’s Just Winging It And Other Fly Tales” respectively, an acoustic set featuring Emma Cheruto, Njera and Ayorosh curated by Patricia Kihoro for Homeboyz Radio and the festival’s “Rising STAR” set featuring Tunji, Shukid and Steph Kapela and last but definetly not least, a one of a kind performance by South Africa’s Kwesta; all presented an unprecedented melting pot of musical sounds at the Festival in terms of depth, duration, variety and theme.

There’s so much to say about the dopeness of the festival but one thing I really loved about Africa Nouveau was the one platform set out for Kenyan artists to be discovered. There were so many dope fashion designers, film makers, drink connoisseurs, amazing photographers and SO MUCH DOPE MUSIC by really fresh and amazingly talented artists that’s yearning to be explored!
