Safaricom Foundation Empowers Rift Valley Residents Amidst Tough Economic Environment

Safaricom Launches Ndoto Zetu As Part Of Their Mission To Transform Lives

As a step towards reducing the effects of Covid-19 and cushioning communities tough economic times, Safaricom Foundation through its initiative dubbed Ndoto Zetu, ten groups across the Rift Valley region have benefitted from 1.5 million worth of items.

Ndoto Zetu, which is part of the foundation’s philanthropic partnerships across the country, aims to support individual Kenyans that are keen to make an impact in their communities through social investments.

Some of the groups that received tents and chairs include Perumali, Mtaa Umoja, and Cheplasgei in Uasin Gishu County, Kimolwa, and Tmso Legetyo in Nandi County.

Chebara Dam Conservation Group and Zsingwili were from Elgeyo Marakwet while Uongozi, Chanuka, and Tunuane represented Trans-Nzoia County.

“We are glad to be able to equip Kenyans with items that will help start and bring back businesses to life through our community social investment, Ndoto Zetu,” said Joseph Ogutu, Chairman, Safaricom Foundation.

Earlier in the month, the Foundation, through the Ndoto Zetu initiative donated various medical equipment to five health facilities in Bomet, Trans-Nzoia, and Kericho.

That saw Chebangang health center in Bomet receive new maternity equipment while in Trans-Nzoia, community health volunteers from Chematich received ant-jigger treatment chemicals and Karaus dispensary had their maternity wing equipped.
