COVID-19: 5 Online Businesses You Can Start During This Time

Online business to start amid covid-19

Which online business should you start amid the COVID-19 pandemic?

First of all, let’s get this straight. Everyone has been affected by the pandemic. As the crisis continues to ravage wildly, it has left us with no option but to cope with it and try living it with it because it’s for sure a long term aspect. It is now the “new normal.”

The number of people forced out of work during the coronavirus pandemic continues to soar to historic highs. It is sad to note that over 55 million jobs have been lost worldwide since the onset of the pandemic.

Therefore, it is essential to have a “plan B” concerning income and financial capabilities for the next couple of months as job security is not guaranteed. Hey, don’t even think of selling hand sanitizer and face-masks. You’ll be a jerk for doing so.

I have therefore listed and explain online jobs you can try out while at home.
I prefer online gigs as they are jobs you can do while at home hence minimizing the chances of you contacting coronavirus.

Let’s dive in.

1. Start a Blog

Do you love writing? Well, this might be your chance to show your prowess and in the process, earn money. A blog, with a bit of commitment and hard work with rake you $1000 in the first three months into the business. Topics of discussion may touch on finance, personal development, food and recipes, health and fitness, product reviews, news, and so on. Think about something that people continuously search on the internet but fail in finding it. Be confident of what you love writing about and write it passionately. Remember, to succeed in blogging, consistency is critical.

2. Write Articles

This is another opportunity if you are good with words. There are websites such as Freelancer.com and Upwork, where you can easily register and get writing gigs. Usually, a 500-word article will fetch you between $4 and $20 depending on your expertise. For me, that’s one of the easiest ways to start from.

3. Be an Online Tutor

COVID-19 pandemic has forced the school to be closed, and parents aren’t comfortable when their children stay that long without getting their hands on school work. As a teacher, you can grab the opportunity and get paid to tutor kids online. Start by signing up for online tutoring platforms and make sure you are a qualified teacher. Another way to do so is offline. Approach parents within your locality and let them know you can coach their children. Just make sure you adhere to safety precautions. You wouldn’t want anyone to contact COVID-19 in the process.

4. Start a YouTube Channel

A YouTube channel will be ideal if you have a story to tell. Or maybe a hack to share or a recipe to demonstrate. Perhaps you just want to share your thoughts, expertise, or lifestyle with the world. Well, whatever your goal, you have our support.
YouTube is a fantastic tool for connecting with others, building a community, and, best of all, making money.

5. Market and Sell Food and Grocery Online

Recent stay-at-home orders drove a spike in demand for grocery delivery from services like Jumia food, Glovo, Yum, and Copia across the country. Start your venture by registering on the platforms. For Jumia Food, you first, fill the registration form. Don’t forget to read and accept their Seller Agreement. After that, complete the dedicated training session for new sellers to become familiar with e-commerce and how it works. Once you are done, list more than five Products and start selling.

Bottomline

Remember, it takes time for any other business to pay off in terms of income. The harder you work, the sooner you will see the results.
